  1. It can’t be denied that there is a mad increase in the rate at which people are migrating to the european countries, especially from Africa. People fleeing Africa do so in their quest for a better life. People fleeing the Middle East do so in quest for peace, they flee from the wars. I do not blame the individuals doing just that. I do blame the corrupt governments, warlords, religious zealots and bigots, who are making their world such a terrible place for these people.

  2. The migration is driven by demographics and economics. Larger and larger cohorts are coming of age in Africa, and they have few economic opportunities – in west Africa, except 2–3 countries, most economies are poorly managed. The largest economy in Africa, Nigeria, is not faring well at all. Many if not most migrants from Africa are somewhat educated young people who have no possibilities of getting work that they are qualified for. When Europe was at the same demographic transition the response was a massive migration to the America. But this is less feasible for Africans. But we see that African immigrants to America are doing well, and much better than non-immigrant black Americans on average.
