Does anyone have experience of the upper and lower jaw surgery? How long did healing take? Will it totally change my face structure?

Your face will definitely change, slightly. When you have the surgery, one or both jaws and their teeth are permanently repositioned into new, more ideal relationships. There may be braces pre- and post-surgery. There will also be changes in the relationship of teeth to tongue as well as the hyoid bone and airway. All of these changes can affect how you speak, say certain words and even the frequency of your voice. Not all changes are negative.
If you’re going to have this surgery, I’d say don’t be nervous because it’s really not that bad. The recovery time isn’t all that long when you think about it, and your future self will thank you for deciding to do it. Also the week before have your favorite meals and have a lot of crunchy and chewy foods because you will miss them. And eat as much as you want because you’re going to lose weight anyway so why not take advantage of it.
