Even if the coronavirus isn’t here to stay forever, treating it as though it’s here to stay forever is highly advisable. People are dying from the virus so if it take treating it as thought it’s here to stay forever to keep people way from contracting it, then so be it. It almost two years since the pandemic and till now, there are only vaccines that do not give a 100% assurance.
The virus will continue to circulate but once people are protected from severe illnesses, it might only cause mild to moderate pain. Failure to eradicate the virus does not mean that death, illness or social isolation will continue on the scales seen so far. The future will depend heavily on the type of immunity people acquire through infection or vaccination and how the virus evolves.
