A few essential components will be needed for the Linksys extender re6800 setup. First, you will need a working Wi-Fi router because the RE6800 extends an existing network. Ideally, the router should support WPS, or Wi-Fi Protected Setup, for a seamless connection process; however, you can also connect it manually. You will need a device with a web browser, such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet, to access the extender’s setup interface. This device must have the ability to connect to the RE6800’s initial Wi-Fi network whose name is often found on its label. Critical to this matter is that the router must emit a fairly robust Wi-Fi signal in the room where you place the RE6800. In fact, because the extender amplifies whatever signal is going through it, a weak original signal will directly limit its use. You will need the appropriate power adapter for the RE6800 and an operational electrical outlet.
