Does yoga counts as exercise— I have been able to keep up with just my daily yoga activities because of my very busy schedule. Is it enough to keep me fit?

There is evidence that yoga does improve strength when practiced regularly. Many poses in yoga are a form of body weight training that uses your body weight for resistance, for example the handstand or the plank. Certain positions and poses, just by leveraging your body weight, will challenge a muscle and make it stronger. One study found that, at the end of the study, women who did an hour of ashtanga yoga twice a week for eight months were able to lift more weight with their legs compared with women who didn’t do yoga. You don’t need machines or free weights to build muscle.

Yoga can be considered as exercise. Only thing to remember is that, Yoga is much more than just exercise; it is more than merely an activity you take up to burn calories or gain muscle. It is an art.l. Yoga is a whole way of living. Over the years yoga has gained popularity among foreigners mainly with regard to the exercise aspect of it. From different poses to strengthen the body and improve your flexibility to different mudras and forms that claim to improve your metabolism and immunity.
