It may seem harmless until they start exhibiting what they listen to in the music. Then as a parent, ask yourself these questions;
Would you let them smoke?
Would you let them drink alcohol?
Would you let them take drugs?
Would you let them watch porn?
Most people think trap music is harmless. But it’s not. It has a similar effect on the brain as substantial drugs. Even if we do not consider the lyrics, rap music is aggressive. Being confronted with aggressive stimuli creates aggressive personalities. This is the more true for children and teenagers.
As much as you may not want your 12year old listening to such music, you should also know that you cannot always control kids, especially kids of this generation. If he doesn’t listen to the trap music at home, he sure will listen to them at his friends’ or even on The streets. Trap songs are everywhere, even in movies. You really may just do nothing about it because in actual fact, there is nothing much you can do to remedy his choice of music.
