La belle ferronnière By Leonardo Da Vinci is a work I can’t get enough of. Da Vinci was a genius indeed. He didn’t leave much work behind, but every painting is a masterpiece.
Leonardo thought painting is an actual recreation of objects. It requests the painter to has a good grasp of proportion and perspective toward figures. Leonardo combined art and science in creations. Thus, there is a unique style in his paintings.
There are quite a number of other works by Davinci that enjoy huge popularity. My favorite of all time is his painting of the Last Supper. Asides from the fact that it’s a paining of Jesus with his disciples, something some other artists have done and still doing, Da Vinci’s Last supper expresses a lot of emotions and movements, which makes it a top notch. Leonardo Da Vinci made this work in the dining room of the Santa Maria Della Grazie Monastery in Milan, Italy. In order to be a suitable picture for the hall where the priests eat, its subject has been determined as the last dinner that Jesus had with his apostles.
