With the new swimming pool lifts, swimming exercises have been made very easy for individuals confined to wheelchairs. Swimming Pool lifts are devices designed to assist in transferring people with disabilities or with limited mobility into swimming pools. This assistive device resembles a robotic arm, with articulations, working as a crane when transferring loads from one point to another.
The idea is to help wheelchair users or any other person with limited mobility to get into a pool safely. The pool lifts provide with the safety not only to its user but also to the caregiver that is assisting in the process. It completely eliminates efforts on both sides, as no one will lift any weight at all.
Thankfully, things are gradually getting better and people with some physical challenges or the other can now access some facilities that would rather be accessible to only physically fit individuals. Yes, people of wheel chair can swim and even take swimming lessons. All they have to do is to find a wheel chair friendly pool to perform that swimming activity.
