When I think about how death feels, I like to think of it as a sleeping state where someone doesn’t have to wake up. When I think about it in this manner, I think about it as a peaceful thing. Is this true?

Only for those whom have done more good than evil. The soul pays for all that is done in each lifetime and for which lessons it refused to learn. Leave the world better than you found it, do no harm to other people, animals and even yourself, and you have nothing but peace until your next assignment.
Death is peaceful and painless only for those people who die in their sleep. Some say that when we are about to die, we see our entire life in a flash, the deeds that we have done our entire life. Some suffer for months in some disease before dying on the hospital death bed slowly and painfully, and some die in severe pain in accidents or shock. One who is born has to die someday only to be reborn again in a new body. Where, how, when a soul is reborn, whether as a human or animal depends on the deeds done in previous births. But if we keep worrying about death, that will do no good, only harm. So live in the present and do good deeds, and make the best of today, because past is gone and you cannot change it, learn from your past mistakes and don’t repeat them in present or future, and you don’t know what is going to happen in future so stop worrying about the future and live in the present.
