Prostitution is legal is some places in Africa such as; Angola, Benin, Botswana, Ghana, Ethiopia, Gabon, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, and some parts of Nigeria. Transactional sex is everywhere, except that some countries have refused to legalize it even though the government is aware of how rampant it is.
Prostitution laws in Africa vary widely from country to country, and between regions and towns within a country. Prostitution is a way of life for many poor and abandoned women living in African border towns were trucking routes are popular. Surprisingly, prostitution is legal in many African countries. Some of them are; Lesotho, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Burundi, Cape Verde, etc.
