Is it improper to clear my plate of food during a date?

I went out with a guy some days ago and he claimed it was improper because I finished my food, said it was in lady like and I was supposed to leave some food in the plate, I don’t understand this, can anyone explain?

      Clearing your food plate simply means you enjoyed the food or you don’t like to waste. I see no reason why anyone should set this as a standard to determine ladylikeness. He is an asshole with absolutely no manners.

      That guy you describe seems like a prude!!!! What?? When you go out and buy food with your own money don’t you enjoy it? Don’t you finish it up? Why must you act differently around a man? He didn’t complain about table manners but that you finished your food? Yeah, that sounds like a one time date to me
