We live in a time when taking pictures of food, instead of eating them is actually more enjoyable. We have come to a situation when not taking pictures of our day to day experiences and posting them on social media equals to not having lived that experience at all. How funny is that? We say that we need to live in the moment.
We want validation of our experiences and our choices from as many people as possible. Maybe it’s a good thing when it comes to purely material things like when we are buying this crap or the other, because we are not sure of our choice. But what about our emotions and feelings? Do we need to show them to 100 other people who have nothing to do with that? How does the picture of the food we are about to eat going to do anything useful for the people looking at it? Is it to make them feel jealous or is it a free advertisement for the restaurant?
I think it is mainly because we have either lost our sense of introspection or because we have become numbers in the herd. We think it is OK because not one, not two, but millions are doing it. If millions are doing it it must be right. It must be the cool thing to do.

People posting pictures of food on social media has different reasons and intention.
Some people do it to show off their life. Actually, most of people posting food pictures on social media, because they want to let other people know they are eating delicious food, they are enjoying their meal time. However, the reality is sometimes it seems that they don’t enjoy their meal too much but they just want to show off it to public.
Some do so to keep memory of every moment of their life. Sometimes, people posting the food pictures of what they are eating is because they would like to share their life moment to others. They don’t care what’s others reaction of what they post, they care about their life and they just want to record every moment of life, so they post it.
