Nothing is good for you unless your body is made for it, or it aids your body in what it is already trying to do. Is it better than cigarettes? Probably. It’s not as addictive, it doesn’t cause cancer as badly as cigarettes do, it only increases risk of cancer if you consume it very frequently, like daily, it actually has some benefits like medical applications and the effect is actually noticable from the first time you try it on. I personally feel nothing when smoking cigarettes, other than my throat getting fucked.
It depends on what you’re wanting from them; better is a highly subjective term. If you’re looking for a quick energy boost, it seems that’s something that some people get from tobacco, while weed doesn’t tend to have that sort of effect, and the psychoactive effects from weed tend to be longer lasting. There’s relatively limited hard science around weed, due to the US government’s resistance to allowing such research…but what’s out there tends to say that a single joint is worse for you than a single cigarette. From my experience though, most people don’t sit down and smoke a single joint all by themselves in one sitting, while most cigarette smokers will smoke at least one cigarette each time they smoke, and will smoke many more over the course of a day. Also, cigarettes are massively more physically addictive than weed is.
