How so many of us have selective hearing and only hear his racism, sexism and homophobia. It’s crazy when people get upset about that, it’s only entertainment! I mean, back in the day, minstrel shows were just jokes too, what real world consequences could possibly come from telling some harmless jokes at the expense of marginalized groups?
The trans and gay people who took offense to Dave’s special truly missed a beautiful message and they sure have a strange pair of ears. Having problem with that special shows you people are actually not listening anymore, they only react. I think people have become so addicted to controversies such that a resolution now seem so scary to them. Honestly, the lgbtq+ community needs to open their ears and hearts and really listen.
