You can tell if someone’s IQ is above average from the way the person speaks. Appropriate use of a large vocabulary, multi-clause sentence structure, and clearly delineated subjects, objects, and tenses, may indicate a higher IQ. Of course this does not work the same way for non-native speakers of the language, and there are reasons —e.g. learning handicaps or lack of early access to education— why a high-IQ might not come across through speech patterns.
When you realize you know things that people around you haven’t a clue about, this is an indication you’re smarter than the average person. People know they’re intelligent regardless of how their appearance is, many show a sophistication about their self in their walk, talk, and mannerisms. Intelligent people are influential whether good or not so good. They educate people with facts, and some have their own theories and opinions. They are highly knowledgeable people who share what they know. They take the lead in guiding others to make the right choices and decisions. Smart people are relied upon to direct others because they have good answers in life.
