      You need to pay close attention to what is covered. You will need to get advanced coverage opinions from your insurer regarding each procedure. You don’t want to be in a situation that you are hit with a big bill because of an unexpected denial. It may also be a good idea to get a quote from the facilities to determine what the price would likely be without coverage.

      Have your provider do an advanced benefits determination. The provider calls to the insurance company, providers procedure and diagnosis codes for what will be billed. If the codes meet criteria for medical necessity then you’ll be covered. If they don’t meet requirements then you’re solely on your own.
