I think someone mistakenly sent me some crypto coins

What do I do if I received some crypto coins in my wallet, I know it’s most likely a mistake from the sender.

There is a good chance this person will never reach out to you. It sounds like an accidental transaction. They have no clue who you are. They can keep sending transactions to that address and store data in them if they want to reach out to you. Sending it back is not a very good solution. Most bitcoin addresses are discarded after their balance is spent and are never re-used. Also, if there were multiple inputs into the transaction that sent you the money, you do not necessarily know which one belongs to the person.

Don’t fall for such scam! I would say you are lucky and unlucky. Lucky in a sense that you are bitcoin rich and also unlucky in a sense that your wallet might be hacked and coins might be transferred back from your wallet to the hackers wallet. This is the one and most effective cryptocurrency hack till date. Where huge sum of coins is transferred using the clipboard hijacking method to send coins into several wallet addresses just to avoid being caught.
