I have oily skin, do I still need sunscreen?

Does someone with an already oily skin need any sunscreen? If yes, what type?

Sunscreens also help to decrease the risk of skin cancer and also of sunburn-like skin reactions caused by some medications. Choose a sunscreen in a lighter base, such as an alcohol-based lotion, spray or gel. They are hydrating and best for oily skin because of its ability to absorb into the skin with ease. You can apply sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher daily before heading outside.

  2. Try Gel based ones to avoid any breakouts. SPF 15-20 is fair enough, So most of the days creams will also do the job as long as they don’t break you out. But also important is to have PA++ on your sunscreen because it is about UVb radiation which causes tanning. Use an anti-oxidant serum before sunscreen as I see they are missing most of the commercially available sunscreens.
