The memories of dreams are pretty much gone within the first 90minutes of waking up. So, you may not think you are dreaming because you don’t remember your dreams, and that is a pretty normal experience. We dream every 90 minutes throughout the night and whether you remember them or not, you are dreaming, as it is a natural and necessary function of the brain.
No I don’t believe it’s possible. I think it’s part of being a human. All animals dream. since we are basically an animal with a larger brain, why wouldn’t we dream. The brain needs to process too much information to filter only in the waking state. They’ve done sleep deprivation experiments on humans and they begin to have hallucinations. Which might just be dreaming while awake. Who knows? The mind is a complex and little known wonder no matter how many electrodes they paste on and record.
