Had this done a few weeks ago. If it’s a basic extraction with no complications it’s absolutely fine – the anaesthetic injection is just a little prick in your gum, and then you feel no pain.
Because of the position of my tooth, mine was a surgical extraction, where they had to drill away a bit of the bone to get it out. This still doesn’t really hurt at the time, but there was a lot of blood and it was very painful for a couple of weeks afterwards, and needed stitches, antibiotics, etc.
If the extra teeth are starting to affect your dental hygiene or other teeth, it’s best to remove them as soon as possible. Just find a really good dentist to pull it out, and while he’s doing it, close your eyes and pretend it’s something other than his hands in your mouth.
