Your dog is part of your family, and you may be willing to do most anything for them. That could include making their meals from scratch, and you’d of course want to make it healthy and nutritious.

Making home-made treats is easy! Just choose products that are convenient for you and healthy for your pup and you’re good to go! Here are some safe products you can use to make DIY treats for your your pet:
Vegetables/fruits: pumpkin, carrots, zucchini, apples, quince, air-dry them or use them raw, separately from each other. In snacks and dog cookies: make sure they are no more than 10-20% of the ingredients.
Berries/herbs: raspberries, blackcurrant, cranberries, dill, parsley (you can use them to make cookies, not more than 5% of all ingredients).
Meat: beef, poultry, horse mean, rabbit meat.
By-products: liver (no more than 5-10% in cookies, not recommended to use as a separate treat), lung, rumen, stomachs, hearts.
Fermented dairy: cottage cheese (max. 5% fat), yogurt-no sugar or other additives-, kefir.

You should consult with your own vet to make sure that your dog’s unique needs are being met. There are three main nutrients that your dog needs to stay healthy. These include proteins, fiber, and carbohydrates. Typically, adult dogs do very well with a diet that’s made up of about 18 percent protein. Before you feed your dog, make sure the food is completely cool and safe to avoid burns.
