The most common is twice a year, but it is possible for a female dog to have a maximum of three litters a year. Female dogs can go into heat around the age of six to a year and don’t go into menopause. Depending on how many times a year it goes into heat if she goes into heat 3 times a year she can have 3 litters not saying she should but she can but if she only has 1 heat she can only have 1 litter.
Depends on how many times she comes into heat. You shouldn’t breed a dog more than once a year and preferably once every two years. It is highly not recommended and even forbidden in some kennel organizations to let your female have puppies more than once in year.
