This is a trick I use whenever I feel someone is lying to me; I look them straight into the eyes when they’re talking. I don’t break eye-contact with them. It is believed that when someone is lying to you, they won’t be able to maintain eye-contact with you, they get comfortable. I’ll look you straight in the eyes, if the person is lying, they will always be looking for ways to explain for there saying better. Unnecessary explanation as a result of the eye-contact
Actually once I hear something like “let me be honest with you or let me tell you the truth”, I already start doubting you, starting conversation with that line means you’re trying to convince me of your honestly. When people are lying, the mind is doing too many things including making up the story, figuring out if they’re being believed and adding to the story accordingly. Rocking the body back and forth, and shuffling the feet are signs of deception, it’s also possible to also notice a creak in someone’s voice. Clearing the throat, a means of coping with the discomfort of the tightened muscles, can be a signal of dishonesty.
