My dog has been avoiding her food for some days now, at first I thought she just didn’t like the particular food, so I changed her dog food. Even at that, still the same narrative, but she looks fine, no sign of sickness whatsoever.

Look at its eyes. Look to see if it is licking its lips constantly. Watch how it moves, whether it eats and drinks. There are many many ways to tell if a dog is sick or injured. Sometimes you won’t see anything on the outside, but the dog won’t move normally, and its eyes will look deep and searching. If you have any concerns, take it to a veterinarian immediately. Better safe than sorry.
And ask yourself why. Why would your dog be suffering? Try to figure out where the suffering may be coming from, and do something about it
There are several signs dogs give us to help us know how they are doing. Do they still have a good appetite, show interest in food and eat well? Do they still show joy when you come home? Are their eyes still bright and fairly alert? Do they hold their ears the same, or do they seem to be holding them lower? Do they still wag their tail enthusiastically? Do they still show a little livelier step when you take them for a walk? There’s no way to be positive; if your dog acts in any way different in his mannerisms, movements, eating or drinking habits, or anything different than normal, take your dog to the vet just to be safe. You wouldn’t want to suffer; your dog doesn’t deserve to suffer if a simple vet visit will solve the problem.
