When I first got my cologne, it smelled so nice and smelled nice all day. However, as the days passed by, the effectiveness got reduced as the smell vanishes before a day is over. What can I do?

If your skin is anything like mine, super dry and very thirsty, I would advise using a non-scented lotion or moisturizer on your skin at least 15 minutes before applying any fragrance. This will help to keep the fragrance compounds stay on your skin and not immediately absorbed into it. I also apply my cologne to my shirt and a spritz on my hair even sometimes. Always try a small spray on a hidden area of your shirt to check for staining, because some fragrances can stain your clothes. Also, try using eau de parfum strength instead of an eau de toilette. Parfum has more fragrance compounds than an edt and will last longer typically. However some notes just disappear quickly, especially citrus notes in my experience.
Use a fixative. The fixative you use depends on the perfume base. Is it alcohol based? Monolaurin can help and is readily available. Mixing with oil or wax, sometimes requiring a surfactant, depending on the scent. A very very dilute soap solution might help makes it last even longer, though you need about 6–10 times as much scent for an oil based perfume as an alcohol based one for the same level of scent. Putting the perfume in a place where there’s less exposure to air currents also extends duration.
