I’ve been unable to write for a very long time now. At first, I thought i was just a normal phase associated with writing. However, the block is gradually turning to total zone out. Sometimes, I force myself to write, when I read it, it makes no sense to me. My ability to write is almost gone totally. I need myself back. Writing is the only way I express myself. How can I regain my ability to write?

Writer’s block could be so frustrating, I know this because I’ve been there. I had the support of a friend who encouraged me during that period. I stared writing everyday, I created a routine for myself. I write at a specific time everyday, it can be little but I made sure I was writing everyday. I chose a place free of distractions, including my phone. If you’re a lover of music, you can play a good song while writing. You can also get some exercise, it helps to relax. I also noticed when I don’t sleep well, I struggle with my writing ability. So, I started sleeping better, and I saw positive changes. One thing and probably the most important thing you want to do for yourself is to be patient. Don’t belittle yourself or be so hard on yourself. Keep moving at a pace you can sustain. You’re not doing this for anyone, you’re doing it for yourself.
If you’re experiencing writer’s block, these are some ways for you to overcome it;
Discipline yourself to write on a regular basis. Routine writing has proven to help a lot in dealing with inability to write.
Your words do not have to perfect, just write it out as you think of it. You can make corrections later.
Change your environment. The thing environment plays a major role in writing, go to a serene environment when you want to write.
Eliminate distractions
Read a book. Books help in finding that spark once again. Read for inspiration.
Take breaks. Do not write yourself to exhaustion. Sometimes all you need to do is think and let your creativity take over. Don’t overwork yourself. Take your time.
