Stop drinking more alcohol so your liver can get to work purging the toxins. Drink plenty of water and get some easy exercise in, depending on how sick you’re feeling. Within 2–3 days, your body should be rid of it but if you’ve been a longtime heavy drinker it may take some additional time for your body to regulate its levels back to normal.
Abstinence. Easier said than done, for sure. But, it’s also key to seek counselling to help with the behaviors and mindsets that lead to or are fostered by addiction. My mother quit drinking on her own, God bless her, but by never seeking counseling, she still alienated her children by being a “dry drunk” and left me with a love/hate rememberance of her that has stunted my ability to trust relationships to this day. I can forgive her for that, but it leaves me and her other children with issues we are working out well into our adulthood.
