He paid for it, like most other recent people who have stars there. It’s not awarded for fame like in the past. It’s purely promotion, bought and paid for by those willing to do so. In the old days, decades past, people got stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame because they deserved it. Nowadays you can actually buy a star on the Walk of Fame which is probably what he did, or somebody in his PR firm did. It’s like appearing on the cover of People magazine as the ‘most beautiful’ it’s nothing about the looks of the person, it’s about who has the best agent to get them on the cover.
