Once thing I’ve realised in life is, the more you try, the better you get. This is a common theory, even the most confident salesperson have had a fair share of a “shy moment”. You meet new people, you talk to new people, strangers, it can be a bit of a big deal. So don’t beat yourself if you’ve not been able to overcome your shyness, if you’ve just started your work as a salesperson, the thing is, you really going to get your confidence and boldness. Soon enough. The more you get involved in the role, the better you get in it. Pending the time you overcome your shyness, you can as well weaponize it to your favor while talking to clients or customers. You will definitely be fine, take it a step after another.
The people you talk to are usually strangers and will most likely not judge you. Judging you wouldn’t affect you in any way, it will make you better even. Imagine that you went to buy a car for yourself. How would you like yourself to be treated? Would it be great if you the salesguy just stood there being all shy? Try to see these new people as friends and show them around. Make them feel comfortable, in trying to make them feel comfortable, you get comfortable with them too and try to access their needs. You will slowly but surely become a very confident salesperson. Goodluck!
