I am not really a religious person, so I won’t be able to answer the question for a personal angle. But looking at the society, there are many negative effects of religion one point to here and there. Talk about religious war; it is so unspeakable that religion that ought to preach peace is sometimes the starter of war. Of course, this is due to the believers fighting for the sake of the supreme being they believe in. In the society these days, most people would rather spend hours praying to their supreme being over an issue, issues that require them to pragmatic. I mean, would your God come down and help you look for job? Of course you have to do that yourself, and not lie in one corner praying endlessly.
