This literally is happening to me currently, I was too pissed cos I waited for too long just for the waiter to bring me something else. Well, I’m kind of relaxed now and I think I shouldn’t have asked that he take it back.

I’ve done that on quite a number of occasions, if while ordering said item I was supposed to choose how it was cooked. We were at breakfast. My husband had to go back to the car for his phone. I ordered for him. I was specific eggs sunnyside up. They brought out scrambled eggs. I have also returned a well done steak, I always order medium rare. I also have a food intolerance for cheese and milk. So when I received a chicken dish with cheese melted on it, I asked for a do over. I have ordered items a certain way. The wait staff acted like that it was expected or okay to order that way. So I should receive it that way. It might be the chef or it might be the wait staff. In the case of the eggs. The waitress apologised and said it was her fault.
I’ve had a few meals I’ve had to return because I asked for no onion and they put the regular amount of onion, or extra onion a couple times, on or in what I ordered. I’ve got a mild onion intolerance that can get worse when my health goes bad so sometimes I can eat some onions, especially if they’re well cooked, other times I can’t even eat green onions, the kind the affect me the least, without my digestive system going nuts on me. One time I even had to explain why I couldn’t have onions that day and that if they snuck onions in the replacement that they better be paying whoever cleans their restrooms enough to deal with what could happen because my health had me extra sensitive to onions at that time.
