Green stool can occur due to a normal or benign condition and not be a cause for concern. For example, you may produce green stool after consuming certain iron-rich foods or iron supplements, leafy green vegetables, or products with green food coloring.
If you have been eating lots of greens— vegetables and green fruits— lately, that will explain why your stool is green. However, diarrhea can also be a reason, it fosters green stool. Another cause is infection, if you’re certain about what you’ve been eating, you probably have an infection then and you should consult your doctor immediately.
