Is good sport a competitive sport? Or it’s just a sport people participate in just for the fun?

I’ve played golf before as a non-sporting activity, not keeping score, not competing, not trying to see who’s better, and that’s a lot of fun, a lot of laughter. I also played for four years in high school where it was a competitive sport, score keeping, prizes and what-not. Even if golfers were not rated against each other, that would not disqualify it from being a competitive sport. Runners do not compete against each other, only their times; the exact same with weightlifters, swimmers, pole-vaulters, javelin-throwers, or any other sport that doesn’t have a direct opponent. But there are professional leagues for golf, with serious prizes for winners, and it’s a game of physical activity, requiring strength and accuracy.
Golf is commonly referred to as a game. If someone is out on the golf course, not playing against anyone, or even really keeping score, then they are not playing golf as a sport. Real sports involve running and jumping. For the most part, pro golfers are a bunch of non-athletes who probably got cut from their high school football and basketball teams and didn’t succeed at other sports. If an activity does not make you break a sweat, or if it can be done while drinking and smoking, then it is not a sport.
