The first thing to do is to call the poison control centre. And while waiting for them, you can do this, depending on what the poison is, some poisons try to get them to vomit. Other poisons dilute as much as possible, others make them swallow whatever carbon is around. There is no one first aid treatment without knowing the poison.
In the event of a chemical ingestion, the best course of action is to call your doctor and follow their advice. They will ask you specific questions, such as the name of the product swallowed, the amount swallowed and the condition of the person who swallowed the chemical. This information will assist them in determining the best course of action.
