You become emotionally exhausted when you smile less frequently than you used to, even in situations that you typically would find funny.
Your senses seem dulled, so food tastes flat, music doesn’t move you anymore, and your taste in clothes change for bad or worse.
Sleep deprived. Socializing becomes difficult, and when you are with friends or family, you feel disconnected and have a hard time paying attention to what they say. When you get startled easily by voices, noises or movement. You are more irritable than I used to be, especially in lines, online, and on the phone. If your anxiety level is higher than usual, and crowds and traffic make you feel claustrophobic. You cry more easily, particularly during movies, sad news reports, sentimental stories and even shows with happy endings.
Being emotionally exhausted goes beyond physical fatigue or even having troubles with activities such as sleeping, performing tasks, it includes but not limited to; mental frustration, helplessness and hopelessness, zero motivation and the rest. emotional exhaustion can leave you feeling emotionally worthless, and tired. You can get unnecessarily toxic, angry, edgy and more demanding. The very sad part is, emotional exhaustion can affect every angle of a person’s life, you feel numb to situations, you feel detached from your loved ones, sometimes, it can render you a total jerkass. Seeing a therapist is a must at this stage once you’ve realised these signs in yourself.
