Any domesticated dog breed can be bred to any other, however, is not a question of if they can breed, but should they be bred together at all. Tiny female, pocket sized dogs shouldn’t be bred to giant male breeds, for example, because the female can die trying to give birth to oversized puppies. There are many other reasons why you shouldn’t do it, but the best one is this.
I think a very high percentage of dog breeds shouldn’t be crossed, unless there’s a specific intent for the mix. And, obviously, no dogs should be bred without health testing. But I am yet to meet a breeder of mixed breed companion dogs who health tests. Giant breeds shouldn’t be mixed. For any reason. They already suffer from numerous health issues. It takes decades of experience and research to breed healthy giants.
