Does waxing cause the skin to loosen up?

I often get this redness effect after waxing, always. I really hope this won’t cause the affected areas to wrinkle and sag over time.

Waxing is one of the best ways of hair removal. It removes hair from the root so regrowth usually takes time. Sometimes partial growth can be seen because of difference in growth cycle of hair. Regrown hair are usually softer and tends to decrease with time. But waxing isn’t without any complication. It’s painful. Lack of proper method or type of skin might lead to complications. Though they are rare, but possible. Usually allergy because of wax, dermatitis, bleeding points and folliculitis can be seen. Such complications are temporary and can be avoided by using proper method and sanitation. Waxing is contraindicated in patients taking blood thinner as it might increase bleeding and thyroid meds as it increases skin sensitivity. And it isn’t advisable to use any public facility as swimming pool as pores are open and chances of getting infections are high. Though complications are rare but I guess it’s better to go for the proper way to avoid these complications. Even I prefer waxing over shaving my skin. Just make sure to do it properly.

No the skin is not loosened but if not done properly, wax can tear the skin. I always clean, then dry the area to be waxed and then use a powder barrier between the skin and wax. The powder lifts the hair so the wax clings better resulting in a hair free area. If some hair is missed then pluck those. Never re-wax an area that was just waxed seconds ago! . After waxing I use baby oil to remove any wax residue and then aloe vera gel to sooth and help eliminate redness. Baby oil helps remove small amounts of wax from clothing and from counter tops too.
