Did you try multiple therapists? Not all therapists are the same, so you should try a few before you right it off. You also have to be ready for therapy. For it to work, it requires you to be open and introspective in a way that you may not be initially comfortable with. That can be difficult for people who haven’t really done that before.

  2. Therapy is designed in a way that it is meant to work for everyone and anyone who seeks therapy. However, something can only work for you if you want it to. If a patient does not wish to get well, no amount of drugs can make them well if they don’t want to. For therapy to work, you have to will it in your heart and you have to be invested; with your time and your whole self.
