Will the colour of my teeth change as a result of using meth?
Meth usually causes a condition called meth mouth. You can spot a meth mouth from a distance. It causes tooth decay, gum diseases etc with severe intensity. Methheads do not generally take care of their teeth by brushing regularly because they are high so they are not disrupting plaque maturation or refilling the Fluoride reservoir in saliva. They are not eating a balanced diet and eat and drink food and beverages with high fermentable carbohydrates content. Their salivary flow rate is decreased by meth and they do not get the protective benefits of Fluoride.
Not only does meth change the color of the teeth, it makes the mouth dry for extended period of time while often simultaneously making its users forget about brushing their teeth which results in accelerated tooth decay. Apart from this some people experience jaw clenching which grinds down your teeth over time.
