Does it seem like they’re hoarding the vaccine— or how do they explain the daily increase in the number of Covid deaths?

With the discovery of the vaccine, it can only be expected that the number of victims will reduce but reverse is the case. Is the vaccine only available to some set of people and not some? Are they hoarding the vaccine from the masses?

Many countries have not approved any vaccines for use. Of those that have, is it surprising or unreasonable that they would want to vaccinate their own people first? To the best of my knowledge, as of today, no country has vaccinated even 50% of its people, so no country has come close to herd immunity, which requires at least 70% if not more. A number of countries including Canada and I think the EU, have promised surplus vaccines to COVAX. Well, Canada is currently $20 in vaccination per capita, and there is a shortage of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines right now. It will be several months at least before we receive enough doses for everyone, let alone distribute them. It’s expected to be July to September. After that, I expect our government will keep its promise to donate any remaining ordered doses to COVAX.
That’s not hoarding. Don’t believe hate-mongering, biased sources. Oh, and these same rich countries funded a lot of the research and manufacturing of these vaccines. Without the rich countries, the vaccines wouldn’t even exist yet. So there’s that too. The existence of the vaccines gives hope to everyone, including poorer countries.

There is no hoard. Countries are vaccinating their citizens as soon as vaccine for them can be produced. It’s a valid question at least I think, the least the government could do is carry her citizens along so there are no speculations.
Personally I think it would be a better idea to spend some foreign aid budget at home to build more vaccine manufacturing capacity, and to sell the vaccine then produced to poor countries at cost price, or to donate it for free.M. The price of any delay is measured in lives, as the EU has finally realized. Time lost can never be regained.
