I don’t know if it’s a big deal, but sometimes I get in my feelings and just delete my social media accounts. I always wish I could be like an influencer or something, I have friends who are. I really put in lots of work in building my accounts, even at that, nothing promising comes from it.

It becomes a serious deal if that’s my source of income. There are a lot of people who got popular overnight just by hopping on a trend, or doing something silly. Some get popular due to the work they constantly put into building their personal or business brand. The fame of this latter set of people lasts longer compared to the former because they always have contents to put out. If you have a product that you want to sell or you want to become an influencer in your area, it becomes important that you have significant popularity on social media channels. On a personal front, there’s no need to become popular on social media. Social media is just a medium for you to connect with your family, friends, and acquaintances to share memories. It does not mean that you should score popularity points for sharing those moments. But then, we all love attention. So, if you’re popular on a personal front too, it’s all cool.
Gaining fame over social networking sites doesn’t make you eligible for anything. Gaining fame in real life, being practical makes you eligible, increases your worth. I used to be a social freak. I was literally obsessed. I used to have more followers on every possible social networking site. Still on Instagram, I have the fame but really that fame would take you nowhere. Being practical in life will make your life worth, not the social networks. People who seek out fame on social platforms, are the ones who ends up in a certain limited groups in real life.
