Although, it is not like that for everyone. But indeed, meditation can make a person get more sensitive. When you start meditating, you do not just get eager to respond to situations, you weigh in a lot before you react in a type of way to situations. You now think about how your actions and inactions can hurt those around you. When you start meditating, you start putting a lot into consideration.
Meditation is going to make you more sensitive to whats going on inside and around you. Compassion is great, but compassion needs to be tempered by wisdom. Wisdom means having the ability to discern what is helpful and what is harmful for you and others. You are going to have to be especially selective about what media you expose yourself to.
