I have a set of twins- a boy and a girl. I realised the girl is obviously growing quite bigger than the boy. Why is this?

At birth, the typical boy is growing slightly faster than the typical girl, but the growth become equal at about seven months, and then the girl grows faster until four years. From then until adolescence no differences in growth can be detected. The sex difference is best thought of, perhaps, in terms of acceleration, the boy decelerating harder than the girl over the first four years.

It’s a well known and an accepted fact that girls develop sooner than boys physically and emotionally. Women develop faster so they do not choose a male of their same age, who is less able to protect and provide for them and their potential child. Girls physically mature faster than boys on a physical level as well due to the quicker process of puberty. Girls undergo puberty earlier than boys by about 1-2 years, and generally finish the stages of puberty quicker than males due to their differences
