The most important thing I’m sure most employers are after is that you do your job. The company succeeds because employees are productive. The company will support you as long as you are good at your job. If you do a lousy job, or if you let being transgendered interfere with your job, you should not expect being transgendered to protect you against a lousy performance rating or other consequences of poor performance.
be positive. Be cheerful and relaxed. View being transgendered as a wonderful part of your life. Do not give the impression that you have a terrible illness, like cancer, and that you must undergo lifesaving surgery that you would prefer not to. Make it clear that you are happy with your life, you have a positive outlook, and others will follow your lead. If you act like a leper, people will treat you like one. If you act like you have a chip on your shoulder, you will have problems. If you act like a happy person, people will treat you like one. Don’t demand special favors from other employees. If you are intermittantly crossdressing, it is not reasonable to expect people to get your name and pronouns right on any given day. It is not reasonable to demand that they open doors for you, complement you on your appearance, or automatically invite you into cliques.
dress inappropriately for work. Whichever gender you present as, dress and act similarly to the other employees of that gender. Unless the other women in your workplace wear short skirts and very high heels to work, neither should you. Drag may be appropriate for a bar, but excessively flashy makeup, hairstyles, jewelry, or clothing do not belong in the workplace.

Depends on the work culture, and if the position is public-facing, it depends on what the company wants to say about their culture. There is probably no legal recourse if a cross-dressing individual is penalized or otherwise required by their employer to dress how the majority of their clients and customers see as gender-normal.
