Your eyes are constantly bathed in a salt solution (tears), so adding pure water to your eye as you put in the lens will feel noticeably strange. Second, you could get some rough eye infections that way, because lens solutions usually have antimicrobial compounds added to them to prevent bacteria from growing on the lens. The water you use won’t have this, so bacteria can grow and be carried into your eye on the lens. 0 Reply Share Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on WhatsApp Debi Huerta New You 2021-09-15T21:54:43+01:00Added an answer on September 15, 2021 at 9:54 pm It ruins the lenses. Water contains minerals and lots of other stuff that is absorbed by the lenses and that can not be removed after. The lenses have their own locked in water content that matches the PH of your eyes but is replaced when another liquid is absorbed. Lenses that have been in water become very uncomfortable to wear and are only good for the garbage can. No amount of soaking in proper solution can fix them again. 0 Reply Share Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on WhatsApp Leave an answerLeave an answerCancel reply Attachment Select file Browse Featured image Select file Browse Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
