I guess technically you could, but why would you want an internship rather than a real full-time position? Internships are great early on in your studies to see if you will even like doing the job for what you are studying. I get that some companies use their internship programs as a long interview process, but that’s not what you want when you graduate. Hopefully by the time you get your diploma, you will have something more permanent lined up and set.
While it’s not too common, people do go for internships after completing college, and I am an example. An internship after college was in fact more useful to me than an average college graduate, as I was below average in academics, and needed something during my gap year to add to my CV for my plans for higher studies. This internship not only did that, but also gave me a chance to learn the working of hospitality industry through a closer look. And, more importantly, it acted as a springboard to help me launch my career. So, yeah, it’s totally possible to get an internship after college. Also, it’s a good idea to go for an internship for your gap year, as it will not only help pep up your CV, but also give you exposure to the corporate culture and the industry, which will be immensely beneficial for you in your career.
