I’m afraid I may have conjunctivitis, and I don’t want to get an eye drop as I don’t know which to get anyway. Will it go on its own?

  1. Pink eye is an infection of the eye, and it could be contagious in its first stage. You need to go now to an urgent care center to get medical attention. I believe you will be prescribed an antibiotic. This infection will take time to go away. There is no antiviral for the usual cause of pink eye. You can treat it at home by using moist cloths to keep it clean and it will run its course. It is mildly contagious however so wash your hands after manipulating your eyes.

  2. Yes and no. It is mostly treated at home but you really do need antibiotic eye drops, for these you must at the very least place a call to your doctor as they require a prescription.
