Fortunately, astigmatism is not a disease, it is simply an eye condition you are born with. The shape of the eyeball is not even so the image that comes through the iris does not focus properly to hit the optic nerve. That causes you to have blurry vision. The vision can be corrected with medicated glasses or contact lenses. Or you could possibly have a lasik surgery.
Astigmatism is caused by an eye that is not completely round and occurs in nearly everybody to some degree. For vision problems due to astigmatism, glasses, contact lenses, and even vision correction procedures are all possible treatment options. Depends on the severity of the condition. It is best to consult with specialists that deal with astigmatism to know which treatment works for you.
