But if it were me, I’d open the windows and as soon as the water pressure is equalized inside and out, I’d leave the vehicle as soon as possible. Some people keep a tool, which is a combo seat belt cutter and hammer, under the seat to assist you in getting out. It’s a good idea if you are in an area where such an incident at a river crossing is possible
