That highly depends on the state, alright. A lot of states allow direct family members the ability to gift a handgun to someone under 21 but older than 18. It has to be a gift though, I’ve heard about grandpas gifting their grandkids(mostly sons) handguns even for 16th/17th birthdays. But like I put earlier, it rightly depends on the state.
A sixteen year old is not allowed to own a gun, at least not in USA. You’re considered a minor and I can only wonder what y’all be wanting a gun for anyway. Maybe clock 18 first?
